  Help Yourself
There are many Free Tools out there on the net that we like, and by the time you've finished this page you will realise We Like Free!!!

Spy/Ad-ware Removal Tools

It may surprise you to know that the latest toolbar you downloaded might actually be a piece of spy ware. In fact many of the “tools” which pop up on your screen a either Ad-ware, Mal-ware Spy-ware. Tools to monitor the time, manage your calendar, help you search the net more effectively, etc. etc. etc. forget them. They are a load of junk! We don't like them!

We like Ad-Aware Personal Edition SE and Spybot SD both are available from www.download.com.

Ad-Aware has a nice user interface and gives a decent amount of information about the potential risk and can even quarantine the files should you wish to put them back.

Spybot SD - (Search and Destroy) is for more advanced users. The level of assistance and roll back isn't there. Some times it good to use them in combination, “if the 1st one don't get ya, the 2nd one will!!”

Anti-virus & Internet Security

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure! It's cheaper too! So GET PROTECTION! No not birth control, Anti-virus protection! We don't like viruses, but we do like good anti-virus protection.

There are two good free products for the home and none profit user AVG from www.grisoft.com and AVAST from http://www.avast.com.

Of course you can always buy paid for versions from the two vendors above or McAfee - www.mcafee.com and Norton Anti-virus from www.symantec.com.

KEEP UP TO DATE!!! As good as a product may be, none of them will protect you if you don't download the updates regularly!!!

Free Firewall

We Like ZONE ALARM - Once you get used to it, or more precisely once it gets used to you and your web applications, you're safe!

Get it from www.zonelabs.com

Sites
www.analogx.com is a great site for finding neat networking tools.
Try netstat for monitoring the speed of your internet connection.

What time is it??
Now if you really want to know the right time, Atomic TimeSync is a great free tool that will give you the time from the atomic clock from a choice of time servers around the world and allow you synchronise your system clock. No more “island time" .

Do you Yahoo?
We do and we like Yahoo. Forget the stingy 2MB Hotmail box and set yourself up with 100MB of e-mail storage. Yahoo has plenty of useful features and we like it.
